The Board of Trustees held, at the of the headquarters of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) in Riffa on Tuesday, July 6th, 2010, its fifth regular meeting under the chairmanship of Advisor Nabil Bin Yaqoob Al Hamer, the Board of Trustees Chairman, with the participation of all the Board members.
At the beginning of the meeting, the chairman welcomed the members and after ratifying the previous meeting minute, the members discussed the new proposed draft that allows BIPD to set up its electronic website.
This website will be launched soon to be a platform that reflects s ihe Bahrain Institute for Political Development vision and mission, and helps it achieve its goals.
The website will therefore foster communication between BIPD and the users interested in its activities and programmes.
It will include many useful and valuable scientific articles for researchers to refer and dealing with the political, constitutional and parliamentary affairs.
The website will also inform the public about the sessions, the conferences and the workshops that BIPD will organize, which will help the culture of democracy to spread, and the political awareness to develop among citizens. It will also encourage users to exchange ideas and to be willing to accept one another.
The BIPD members have also discussed the Ramadan Meeting programme, the purpose of which is to raise political, social and cultural awareness among citizens in relation with the 2010 elections, given the national and political importance of these elections in establishing democracy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Ramadan Meetings program is a continuation to the election program that the BIPD has been implementing to educate voters and raise their awareness.
The BIPD began to implement his programme after having been given the go-ahead by the Board of Trustees on June 2nd, 2010.
Educating voters and raising their awareness is carried out through a planned number of seminars in all Bahraini governorates.
To implement this program, the BIPD will invite some elite lecturers from both Bahrain and other countries to take part.
